Re: Ebay Coilovers (harley07)
they won't expletive up your car, but if you aren't good at stuff like installing those, don't bother.
i bought those, and went to install them, and snapped a head off a bolt on the lower rear control arm where the strut connects. so i need that new bolt, which is a $13, and to get the bolt out, i'll have to pretty much destroy the bushing, another $13 or so. So i stopped there, tac welded the bolt in place, and held off. I'm pretty good at working on cars in general, but there was no way to avoid that, because heating it enough would have just cooked the bushing.
Now assuming i had a similiar problem on all the other wheels, which i heard i probably will, i just took $10 per wheel coilovers, and put them on using $26 per wheel worth of hardware.
But to answer your original question you should have no problem with those coilovers damage wise besides your stock struts might **** the bed after awhile but people i know haven't had a problem.
But if you do buy them, and you get them installed, look forward to shitty ride quality.
no cadillac air ride here.
also, i live in central new york, so the salt on the roads makes the rust pretty bad, and thus bolts and such have a habit of seizing, you might not have the same problem and it might be easy as cake.
just make sure you have a coil spring compressor.

^^^then youre going to have to spend a little more money. a spring compresser is used to compress the spring safely, and thus, you can remove it.

yea i would say go with lowering springs, i don't know first hand, but have heard they are a much better ride
i was warned severely against coilovers from all my friends, who had installed them, then gotten rid of them cuz they got sick of the shitty ride.
personally i wasn't going to care too much if i could get them on, i wanted to slam it on the ground
and yea a coil spring compressor compresses the spring so that you can take it off without it shooting off and killing you. i've had people say they've done it by laying it in the grass and letting it fly, but if you haven't done it before, then use a compressor
and chances are if u don't know what a coil spring compressor is, then you shouldn't be doing this install, not trying to put u down or anything.

yeah, my friend has some coilovers on his accord and his ride is the shittiest ever, so i'll just stick to some lowering springs.. but that means i gotta get more money.. oh well it'll be better for me in the long run right?

This Topic has been explained more then enough. Yes ebay coilovers will work if u want a shitty ride. Cheap coilovers are just making it worse. quit being a cheap *** and get good ones or else u should stick with 4x4....

Yeah, so I'm just going to get some ST lowering springs off of Jeg's Sports Compact. 1.3" drop , I was going to lower it about 2.25" in the front and 2" in the back, but I really can't afford a camber kit right now, and I don't want to wear my tires out. So I'm just going to lower it 1.3"
