Default Ebay Aluminum Radiator Review.

Hey

Just installed ebay radiator core (plastic endtank cracked on stock). Got the product in under a week after ordering. Customer service was awesome. Answered all my questions although they said it would fit "perfect like stock..."

Came very nicely packed and was brand new. Welds looked awesome. Everything looked great. Now time for the install....

First pulled the old radiator. No surprised here.

Next went to fit lower radiator hose on. The outlets are much larger then stock. So with a little bit of vasaline and some muscle it was able to go on. Kinda a bitch though.

Fan fit perfectly.

Now slid into the bottom radiator mounts and attached the top mount and the top hose (went on much easier then the bottom one).

Overflow bottle fit fine.

I am going to pull the lower hose off and cut some of the hose off because the core is so much thicker it causes a slight kink in the hose. Not a big deal but would have been nice to know beforehand.

Finally got it all back together. Went to shut the hood and BAM wouldn't shut. I was pretty pissed. I was able to mangle it close but its going to need some work.

So I think I will have to trim the lower mounts so it sits further into the radiator support and then trim the lower hose and it should be good to go.

Other then those two BIG issues.... I would give the product two thumbs up. Once I get them fixed no worries but kinda stupid if you ask me.

Took the car for a short drive. Seems to cool very similar from stock. It is quicker to drop the temperature back down from a stop (gauge BARELY moves but I was comparing the two for ***** and giggles). I will post more if I notice anything else worth mentioning. Sorry for no pics but I don't have the patience for it.

If I was to do it again I would get the same core but I would modify the lower mounts and lower hose before putting it back together again. Other then that its awesome, looks great and works flawlessly (so far on a short trip around the neighborhood lol).

Boombop was the seller as in this ebay ad. Same one I believe. 100% feedback. Mine is holding up great still and would still recommend it. Sorry I didn't respond. I thought the thread was dead but B18C_EJ8 linked me to the thread so thanks!

There is a better one on ebay. has bigger spouts. Its the Mishimoto one. they are about 110. you have to use a bigger hose tho. worked great for my swap. h22 in a civic, was able to use the prelude hoses top and bottom.

I bought a stock-replacement dual core one (my stock plastic end tank also cracked!) and it was twice as thick, but the same height as stock. Fit perfect, and was like $50 shipped!

I bought mine from just-intercoolers on ebay for $78 shipped. It's Overall Size: 14.37"wide x 16.5"high x 2"thick and I swear my stock radiator was like 3/8" thick. So now it's 4x as thick and it's all aluminum, better for cooling. I didn't have any fitment issues and have no complaints. Great deal.

My friend bought one from autozone or napa auto parts for his GSR hatch - it fit 100%, works 100%.

A radiator is just an array of tubes to dissipate heat through the thin walls, it's not a complex device. People that spend like 400 on a radiator are pathetic.

Cool.. I am planning on ordering one of these for mine.

My OEM radiator is fine, but I don't like plastic end caps that close to turbo and exhaust.

I was planning on one of these radiators, plus the mushito or whatever it's called silicon hoses to go with it, and a slimline electric fan. I need to measure though and see what kind of clearances this will give me.

Thanks for posting up a review. If you can, take measurements showing the differences in mounting and such.

Everything fit perfectly except for the hoses, since they are 1/4" too small. I really had to work to get them on there, but everything works perfectly and cool better than before. Hope this helps.

Cools better, huh? I'm sure your stock D-series was generating a lot of killer heat

I was wondering the same thing. Actually I want to buy a Koyo Aluminum Radiator and use a Fal Slim fan that's supposed to fit like and OEM fan. Does anyone know and can confirm this fitment, Fal Fan to Koyo Radiator?

the hose issue is simply because the aftermarket radiator you bought was for b-series... whether or not the auction stated the specific application, it is def for b series. as for the hood closing, that is odd, mine didnt have that problem. Try removing the rubber inserts from the mounts?
