Default Eagle something rim cleaner... dangerous???

I bought this rim cleaner called Eagle somthing. Its supposed to be the shiat when cleaning wheels. Anyway on the back it says. "Do not use with non-factory painted wheels"

I have 5Zigen Fighters... they are bronze.

Anyone used this product? should I be scared or something? Or am I fine to use it?

thanks

I used it on a set of katana wheels and it ate the clear coat off. They were warantied so I got a new set. Katanas are kinda cheep so..... but anyway yah I would be careful.

Soap and water works for me.
And a good sponge.

Had a type R before. Doesn't take much for the paint to strat getting shitty on those. It definently is painstaking work......I don't like doing it much myself......but if I paid good money for rims then dammit the extra time it takes isn't so bad.

What do you guys use normally??

I even apply my tire shine **** 9Hate when it runs onto the rim.

I would be cautious of using anything but soap on anything painted. I don't like wheel cleaners for that reason. I would stick with a rag, soap, and water to be safe. Plus it will work better than any "magic" wheel cleaner can claim to work.

I use simple green because it's not abrasive, non-toxic, and biodegradable

It depends on which Eagle One wheel cleaner it is. They make different cleaners for different types of aluminum wheels. Check the pH of the cleaner. If it's pH neutral you will be fine (acid-free). Here's a pic of from the Eagle One web-site of the safe cleaner they make.

quote: An acid-free wheel cleaner ideal for polished aluminum wheels.

It is the gentlest wheel cleaner we make, and it was created to address the delicate nature of polished aluminum and anodized wheels.

• Acid-free formula
• Ideal for aluminum wheels
• Excellent for polished aluminum accessories
• Good for truck and SUV running boards

Hope this helps,
G

soap and sponge gets hard if u havent cleaned the rims in a while, esp. up in front. with all the brake dust, it seems that all the scrubbing efforts is useless

simple green and a sponge, sometimes i break out the tooth brush

just dont re-use the tooth brush on your teeth when your done, brake dust is a proven cause of tooth decay and gingivitis.

Any wheel cleaner is dangerous, only use if the dirt and crap will not come off, otherwise water and soap!

hehe...

yea simple green works great. and a toothbrush is a great tool for cleaning rims, especially ones with hard to reach places. by the way, does anyone else use a paintbrush to clean their interior like the ac vents and stuff? all my friends look at me weird when i bust it out to detail my interior...

I think I once read "Do not use on Tires" on the back of Simple Green.

Anyway, I just bought this after I saw my buddy using on his Intrepid tires and wheels. It worked very well.

Acid free
Dissolves brake dust
Spray on, hose off
Also works on tires

I use soap and water left over from car wash and it works fine but needed something for tires.
