Default Dye Interior Part two. Passenger seat. Good pics finally.

This took me about 15 minutes. I used about 3/4 can on the seat alone. The arisol smell is still there and the seat is not going in the car until that smell is gone. I recommend that you do one coat let it dry then come back and do another to pick up the light spots.

I used Fabric Color. Color Ebony.

Here is the seat before.

Almost done. You can see the difference.

Nope, I sprayed the whole damn thing.

The fabric is a little more rough. But, I think with time it would loosen up again. It has not rubbed off on anything yet.

I was thinking of doing this as well, but I was afraid the dye would stiffen the fabric too much and make it uncomfortable to the touch. Let us know how it feels in about a month.

THe stink is almost gone. I left the seat in the garage so it can air out. I will put it back in the car this weekend.

The fabric isn't that stiff, it is like stiff jeans. Not that uncomfortable. I have had the back dyed for a while now and they are still the black that they were. I haven't had anyone wet sit back there yet. I will try the wet towel on them tonight and see what happens.

Then only down side is it brought out the cigarette burns that the previous owner had in the seats.

I did the same thing with my carpet and mats in july. i put in gsr seat and they where black and my carpet was dark grey. It's still good. The carpet is still fine but the drivers mat is a little faded. The only down part about is the smell. It takes forever to get out. I left my windows open about 3 inches for about 2 weeks.

I did this to my seats too and the stuff wore off the driver's side seat after about 1 month of daily driving. Be warned, it looks really nice at first, but sucks later on when one seat is darker than the other.
