i don't think they are interchaniable. they are vastly diffrent displament motors. i wouldn't want to chance somthing as imporitant as the flow of oil throughout your engine.

just go get a filter for your application.. if you dont wanna pay OEM prices for a genuine honda filter for your civic.. you can pick up an STP filter at autozone for pretty cheap.. and their pretty good.. i use either STP, Bosch, OEM honda, Mobil 1, or Purolator Pure One

im at work right now.. so i really couldnt tell you.. call up the dealer and ask them

I mean, DAMN....WTF kinda info is being given here guys.

They are in fact the same filter (as far as 2000 and below models of both Civics and Accords). Call a dealership if in doubt.

They are the SAME exact filter.

If you do not know, PLEASE do not guess and give out wrong info!

I sell O.E parts and the filters are the same for almost every single Honda from 2000 down to 1988!

Just trying to keep the misinformation at a minimum.

Yeah, you can use the same filters on pretty much every honda except the Insight. There are different sizes, but they are all interchangeable. I work at a dealer and we use teh same filter on every model except the insight, which gets a "little tykes" filter.

Hey bro, at least you asked. Yeah, i always go buy Honda filters by the flat (20 I think.) I seem to use them all the time and it's great because there's a 99% chance if i'm gonna be doing any major work on a car at home and need an Oil filter, i will most definetly have a few around. Now you know, and maybe we've all learned a valuable lesson.

The only filters that are different are the RSX, Insight and 02 Civic. And those are all the same.
