Default Dumb question... fast blinker

I hate asking questions about stupid things like this, but here goes.

My right blinker is fast all of a sudden. Left blinker is normal. Is this a blinker relay, or something else? I would have thought that if the blinker relay was bad, both would be fast, but I can't think of anything else that would cause it. I've never had any kind of blinker problem before, so I'm a bit clueless.

one of your turn signal bulbs on that side has burned out. turn the key on, turn on that blinker, walk around the car and look for which one is not flashing. change bulb. done.

EDIT: almost no question is a stupid question. this is a technical forum and you are supposed to be able to ask questions when you don't know the cause or answer. that way somebody that has experienced a similar problem before can help and you can learn from it. thats how most of us learned what we know. from not knowing ourselves and somebody else passing down knowledge.

but usually you can search and get a good start for a fix of your problems... searching saves multiple repeat posts... and saves you time b/c if you find an answer by searching, you don't have to wait for somebody else to respond.

after you do make a new problem post... if somebody gives you the solution, after it is fixed it is good to come back and add to the post what the problem ended up being or what fixed it. that way when somebody searches for the same problem in the future... they have a confirmed solution from the OP.

Edit: What he said ^^^ lol

Check all the bulbs for your exterior lights to make sure one hasn't gone out, because that can cause it. This happened to both our Taurus and Mustang (both Fords, go figure) and it was because a bulb had gone bad.

also putting in LED lights into blinkers can make them blink fast because of the resistance change

Also check for a loose connection before you buy the bulb.

do any of the turn signals look dull? a corroded ground could cause this symptom also.

if they are all blinking.... tails, front bumper (if applicable) and corners... and the also work on running light mode without blinking... i would ave to say it is a ground problem somewhere... maybe one of the wires for it has scartched thru the rubber and is lighting grounding?

For the fast blinking LED's, you can put a load resistor across the lead and ground of the led lights to draw a higher current so they don't hyper blink. Or SuperBrightLEDs.com makes a kit for like $5 with the right size (6 Ohm, 50 watt) load resistor that you just splice tap onto your lighting wires
