Default Dual Exhaust on my 96 Civic

Hey i was wondering how much a dual exhaust would cost on a 1996 Honda Civic DX coupe right now i have a thermal stealth cat back exhaust but performance is not what im really lookin for anymore. My dx is a dx and always will be till i get a new engine and that wont be for a long time. So i was wondering how much a dual exhaust setup would cost on my civic and where i could get it done. Also what dual bumpers do u guys recommend for my civic thanks

why?
Because he f**king wants too, okay? How does it affect you??
Too many opinionted post that don't even remontly address the question that was brought forth by the topic starter.

But, to try to help the topic starter, I think it would be quite expensive. You would probally need to buy a aftermarket bumber to fit the 2nd exhaust in there (unless you ghetto cut your stock one) The only other real cost would be having a muffler shop weld some piping in, and the prince of the muffler of course.

it wont actually do you any good and would actually hurt you performance-wise..but it does look nice...i asked a shop once and i had 1 5zigen fireball muffler on...and asked how much it would be for dual..and they quoted me anywhere from 230.00 to 280.00; depending on what type of muffler you use...

I have seen a few tasteful preludes that had duals, and it looked tight and "clean". The stock bumber might look alittle narrow, but a wide kit on the back would look nice with duals.

dual exhaust on a civic, especially a stock civic motor is STUPID.

S T U P I D

And not only is it STUPID, it will also make your car SLOWER

S L O W E R

So it will be STUPID and SLOWER.

But if you still want it done (which pretty much makes you STUPID) just take it to any good muffler shop to get it done. But most GOOD muffler shops will tell you its STUPID too.

I seen a few cars with a "fake" second muffler. The muffler was just there on the hangers but not welded to the exhaust pipe. I'm sure this would be cheaper and you wouldn't loose any power from two mufflers. What kind of bumper are you going with?

well i am not sure which rear bumper i would go with and i do have engine mods already but i got a ****** DX wat do u want it doesnt matter if i lose power its slow enough as it is. Im just going for show because performance costs way to damn much when all u got is a dx. But i wouldnt just hang the other one thats gay i would actually want to have a dual exhaust. How much u think i could sell my thermal stealth for the cat back system?

I'm not sure but used exhaust systems don't hold much value. Ask around them post in the classified section. I would also call up some muffler shops and see how much it is to make the piping. Would look nice with dual Apex N1's.

try asking on http://www.clubsi.com you may get some better feedback from people that have already done it,,,, but come on inline engine's don't use duel exhaust, and if you ever plan on swapping out the might d15, you will end up changing it back to a single pipe. don't waste your money get a wing or somthing

Thank you! At least someone has some brains. If you have a black widow rear, and one pipe sticking out the azz end, that is what looks STUPID. If the bumper is made for duals, get the duals! Just make sure you get a shorter muffler(around 18" tip to tip) so the shop has enough room to bend the piping. I'm not worried about tearing the track up. Just making my ride look good.

becuase i just put duals on my black widow civic and it didn't lose any horsepower. The guy above who thinks duals are stupid because you lose horsepower was wrong in my case. So this is why i brough it back.

Dude you can build the D-16 Y-7 and have a screaming SOHC. I can smoke a 99Si, even if they have a I/H/E. Just because its SOHC, desen't mean it has to be slow

And yes its cheaper than a B series swap , and yes it can beat a B series swap,,,lol

All there woried about is B series motors with civic bodies that belong in the freaking dump. Some people could give a **** if there car can beat a mustang. I'm all for show and that's all I have to say.

i think that its all about personal style and how the owner of the vehicle wants it to look. true, i wouldnt put duals on any honda, but i cant say i disagree with the idea. to me, dual exhaust on a civic is up there with having a few screens in the trunk of your car, or flaming mirror tint. but if thats how the owner wants his/her car to look, then hey......more power to them. just my 2 cents.
