Default Drove a new Si finally!

Felt decent, nothing to get excited about. There WAS some torque, although the car didn't pull well at all with 3 adults in it. I miss the whine of VTEC as well as the high-revs... 7k seemed way too early.

I was surprised by the handling although some better tires should be in order if you're considering one. The car felt very at home in the twisties.

All in all, I'd rather spend my $19k elsewhere, it's just not enough car for the money. If price dropped to $17ish, I'd be more interested.

I know most of you have probably driven one, but today was my first chance - just wanted to let ya know what I thought.

for that kind of money ud expect a bit more of car..more power being one of them of course...my daughter is contemplating on getting a new one at the end of the year..i like them..only cuz its not as zippy as past models ...ive heard some dealers flush d with them and selling them under 17k..if so ill use my AAA membership to see if they ll go down to 16k

For 19 i'd spend 1 more K and get a mazda speed protege. I've read a ton of reviews and i'm really impressed. Probably gonna trade the turbo civic ex for one soon. 150 whp and 150 torque stock at 5.5 psi plus a LSD, exhaust, tokico shocks, 400 watt mp3 stereo. I wouldn't even have to mod my car anymore...not to mention it has a warranty.

Yeah..i test drove the 02 Si last week..and im not impressed either...the RSX Type S was more impressive however......but the Si...it was plush, quick, but didn't feel much of an improvement over the B-Series. I love the styling but maybe a decent powerplant under the hood would have gotten me to bite.....isn't it the base RSX motor in the new Si?

Honda needs to make a civic with a 2.5l 4cyl stock... (with vtec of course) At honda's standards and how they build their engines I would think it would put out somewhere between 220-250hp??? (250's actually a little too high... but you can always dream...) anyone else have views and thoughts? Maybe it would have mad torque too... idn, what I'm talking about but I know if honda made it, it would be badass

I would buy that type-r if they brought it here, nice interior, BADASS car, just needs a little more drop

I saw a honda dealer near my house that are selling five SI's for $16300-16500 price range so that will tell you how great the new SIs are.

We'll learn to like it one day I guess. I hated the EKs when they first came out, now I own one.

I liked it...the only drawback was the low redline. I hit the limiter 2 times in my short test drive. The power was decent but I would never pay $19K for a civic. The seats are the **** and the shifter is pretty rad as well.

Why not just get a WRX for 22k???
cause you can get an si for about 16K if you know how to price haggle. a friend got one for alittle over 15K the other day. 19K is the msrp, NO ONE PAYS MSRP FOR A CAR. if you do you are one stupid mother ******.

I'd rather have a base model RSX for almost the same price. Or better yet, a used ITR.

A lot of us still laugh at 5th gens.

haha.

We'll learn to like it one day I guess. I hated the EKs when they first came out, now I own one.

We laughed pretty hard when the EG came out in '92, too. But now we're sorry they're gone.

If you want a real disappointment, drive a focus svt. Then look at the price tag. Now drive a Spec-v and look at its tag. Then tell me where you want to put your hard earned money. the focus and the civic felt the same except the focus sounded like **** and the civic was built much better.
