Dropped my car and its even taller now!! Help!!
oki so a friend just bought this 95 integra Ls coupe. He asked for me to help him drop it with some coild overs the seller gave him. so i installed the sleeves and once with got the car off of the jack stands the car sits even taller!! I checked under and the springs dont even have any tention on them. the car is sitting up very high and not even sitting on the springs. seems as if i could completely remove the shocks and springs and it would still sit the same. Its late to keep messing with it. let me know if you guys have any advice i'd REALLY appreciate it!

you might've adjusted your coils the wrong way bro. Twist the coils so that the bottom ring is all the way at the bottom of the shock, and then twist the top ring down tight with the bottom. I hope that helps?

if it were me, i would take it all apart and start from scratch, but if there's no tension on the spring, theres something stopping it from going down, or the shock isn't compressing like stated above.

the bottom of the springs should sit on the adjustment rings, sounds like u might have the rings on top off the spring. if thats not it i dont kno. take some pics if possible.

I think I might know the solution. If you havnt already figured it out. The exact same thing happined to me when I tried to put some coilovers on my old 88 civic hatch. it was just on the rear sleeves, but my friend and I figured it out that it was the dust covers on the shocks. The dust covers wouldnt fit inside of the sleeve cause it was the same size. We set it down with the wheels on and it bounced like crazy too. Try takin the strut/spring back apart and take off the dust covers. If you already figured it out by now? My bad

If you post a pic we can see what is wrong and tell you what to do to fix it.
Post a pic please. I would like to help. I have installed many coilovers. They are not hard to install. But you need a special tool sometimes to compress the springs to put them together right.
Post a pic of what you have.

Re: Dropped my car and its even taller now!! Help!!
This sounds like the same problem with my car, and the shock maybe blown as was suggested earlier (especially if you say the car is wicked bouncy). To test this push down on the corner of your car (IE front corner to test the front corner shock, rear corner to test that shock, etc) push down three good solid times. If the car comes to a stop from bouncing quickly then your shocks are good, but if the car continues to bounce like a bouncy ball, then your shocks are bad and its time to replace them. If they're good you have a different problem, if they're bad, well you know the culprit then. Hope this helps

The rear dust sleeves are steel and they will not fit inside of the coil-over sleeve, so the car will sit jacked up and literally have zero suspension - the car bounces because you're riding on a fixed steel sleeve, so the tire is literally the only dampening force there.
I'm going to assume it's the rear that's sitting the most jacked up, right?
BTW here is the dust sleeve that needs to be removed:
#9 is steel and needs to be removed.

Re: Dropped my car and its even taller now!! Help!!
thanks guys for the help and advice. it was late last night and i didnt have a chance to play with it but my friend will be coming over here shortly. The dust shield idea might sound like a possibility although its the fronts.
I've installed these things hundreds of times and have Never seen something like this. to the guys saying i might've installed the sleeve backwards. although it is possible to install the sleeve upside down the car would still sit lower. it wouldn't be installed correctly but technically it would still work. the problem here is that the car is sitting on something which it is not allowing it to lower. Which is why i believed maybe the guys that sold it to him and had the car before had installed the sway bar wrong or s omething and was somehow pushing down the lower control arms.
I do appreciate the help guys and ill take pics before i take it back apart and ill let you guys know what it was!!thanks!
