Default driving with no hood...legal?

i want to get my hood re painted, the shop said it will only take a day, but i dont want to be out of a car for a day... can u drive with out a hood legally?

Check Local Laws for your answer. and here is what you do drive the car there, take hood off there. leave the car. get a ride back home. sleep. wake upi pick up your car.

SOme states wont let you do it but you should be fine...like they said watch out for theives...

It all depends on the area. It will bring more attention to your car. Thieves and cops.

Drop the car off, go hang out with some buddies. Come back 8 hrs later and pick it up. Problem solved.

well it probably isnt illegal but i got pulled over for not having my hood and right fender on, but that WA the cops are dicks

It may not be illegal, but some cops to be dicks might give u a hard time...is it a chance your willing to take?? I road 4 about an half an hour through Quincy ma...******** cop city without my hood....they didn't bother me just odd looks...."Like it's that damn VTEC, thats why we can't catch'em....but u should be okay...just no dumb ****

it took a week to get mine painted. i would worry about the quality if they get it back to you the same day. lots of people looking at the engine, but no problems from the cops.

heres whay i was thinking,

8am-go to shop take out and leave my hood
8.3am- drive to work

6pm- drive back to auto shop
