If your talking about an EG, you have to use a dremel to cut off heads of the melted plastic rivets. Once you make it flush with the plastic panel, the two pieces should pop apart. Some rivets are easier than others. The trick is not to dremel too deep. That way you can put the parts back together with short taping screws and washers where the melted-rivets used to be (there are small holes in the center of each rivet).

BTW: While your at it, you should add some EX door pockets if your stock panels have the bolt provisions on the back side: http://www.norcalcivic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=16118

same process. but what i do is use a soldering iron to heat the head up while applying pressure to the front side and it will melt it, and allow it to push through, so that when you put it back together, you can use an iron and shut it back tight like factory.

I'll make a future video when my car comes time for interior restoration.
