Door alignment
My door doesn't seem to line up right...it slightly drops when the door is opened, and you can hear it sort of hit the door jamb when the door is closed. How do I go about fixing this?

Yeah I've checked these already and the bolts seem to be fine. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Re: Door alignment (niftyEJ6)
Ive got this issue to. Its horible I hate it. Is there a way to maybe put a metal shim in there? Or how about using a new hinge? Or is it stress on teh Metal itself?

well the pin is probably worn. A hole new hinge assembly is probably rquired. Well heres a way to fix it budget style. Pull the fenders off and there are 4 bolts that hold the hinges. get a jeck with a block of wood under the rear of teh door. loosen the hinges and adjust the door so the door tims lines up and close the door slowly and watch the striker on the b pillar to see it is cathing if so adjust it so the door opens smoothly.

my friend had that problem w/ his beater car. solution: he stuck a 2 ton jack underneath the door while it was open and started jacking up the car. door has been fine ever since.

Re: Door alignment (slowEKsedan)
I had the same problem with my hatch. (It had been wrecked up front before I bought it) What I did is tightened the bolts on the hinges. (as stated before) and this helped, I could still feel/hear it but it was better. I just totalled my car upfront and am back to the same problem.

So far, this sounds like the only solution I have not tried. Time to get out the jack! I'll let you know how it goes.

Re: Door alignment (Caveman74)
I have the same problem. I think my car was in an accident at one point, because my car is white, but the inside of the door where it connects to the body is red, and so are the bolts. The bottom of it sticks out a little and I had to buy a little bumper for the door so that damn bell didn't keep going off when the door was actually closed!!!! God that pisses me off!!!!!
