Default DON'T drink and drive DAMNIT!

I am so damn pissed right now. I just found out my friend Chad was driving the other night and got in a fight with his gf again and stormed off. He was speeding away and when he went to slam on the brakes to slow down his foot slipped (he was drunk and pissed, that ***** with your coordination) and he slammed on them again and lost control and swerved and clipped the curb (it shattered one of his Konigs and totalled his right front brake assembly) and kept going til a fire hydrant stopped him (in a bad way!). He doesn't know how bad the damage is since he didn't see the car. But, he got arrested for a DUI! So now he's screwed. He took the sobriety test and passed, but they hauled him off to jail anyway, and when he got there, he was TOTALLY screwed when he took the breathalizer test and his alcohol percentage was .157, the legal limit is .08. If you all would like to see how nice his car WAS before all this happened, here's the link to some pics of it, http://hybridhondas.zeroforum.com/zerothread?id=134 , I'll try and get some pics of the damage later on today or something, and post them tommorrow.

Yeah drinking and driving is not worth it. Lets put it this way he is lucky no one was hurt or killed. It would have been alot worst for him. HE can replace a car but he cant replace a life.

i am a pd in illinois, and do a lot of DUI cases. sucks that he 'passed' the field sobriety tests (how do you know he did) but then blew over the limit. if that IS the case, he MAY have a defense. tell him NOT to skimp on a lawyer, as he is risking a lot of damage on the legal aspects of his case.

I kinda had a story like your friends.i totalled my 99 gsr after i had it for 5 months my first car).i was at a bday party and drank.then drove some chick home. on the way back to the party. i got pulled over for my exhaust which i though i was gonna get a ticket for dui at that time but i didnt.well make a long story short. i took some dark side streets so i wouldnt run into any cops.wrong place wrong time thing.some gangsters were following me.blocked me in and i guess tried to jack/shoot/**** me up.i boned out down to a main street still following me going pretty damn fast in 3rd. i came up to a yellow light turning red and seen a car about to cross intersection so i hit a quick right at the light to avoid hitting them.and my car just drifted and slammed into the curb just missing the cross walk/light poll.rolled into a parking lot some people came out and askd if i wanted an ambulance but i told them no just call the cops so i could report it.cops came smell the alcohol and figure i was drunk and totalled my car. Lost my license 1 yr. you can still get it dismissed in court. i did because when the cops came to the scene i wasnt in my car.there for you cant be charged with a Driving Under Influence if they dont see you driving/are in the car.DMV still wont care though.but atleast it wont be on your criminal record
