Default Domelight Problems

I have a 98 civic sedan. I notice when i open any of the doors the domelight doesnt turn on. IT only turns on with i physically push the switch to "on". I thought it was the whole domelight itself so i replaced the whole thing. After i replaced it, the fuse blew. So i replaced the fuse and now the NEW domelight assembly is doing the same thing.

HELP

i tested my alarm on all 4 doors and it triggers all the doors. So i really have no clue what it is. I even changed the bulb 3 times.

Hmmm, mine sometimes wont light up. A lot of times the ground comes loose. Try checking that too. Ive just learned to deal with it.... if it doesnt turn on, a little blunt force from my hand seems to work.

Damn, i check the switches and they seem fine. Is there like a main ground for all the switches and the domelight?

On my 92 I was having a problem with the dome light not coming on unless it was in the on postion. I replaced the ICU (intergrated control unit) on the back of the fuse box and that fixed it. i don't know if the 98 is similar or not, I thought I would through it out there. GL

The factory radio is the brain for the dome light and the keyless entry in the 98.
