DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT? MODS MOVE IF NEED BE!
I just called my local Honda dealer to see if they would change the odometer on my new cluster to match my cars mileage. They said yes, but for $145!!!! Does that sound right from anyone who has done this ???

I can't think of any type of service you can get from the Honda dealership for $20 or less besides maybe a car wash.
Find out what they'd be charging you for. Each job is supposed to take a certain amount of time, which means the job will cost a certain amount of money.

They're probably counting removal from the car.

You may have seen my speedo thread in the Accord section. I paid $20 shipped for a new speedo circuitry which made my speedo work again and I just put the new circuitry on my original speedo faceplate so I kept my miles.
Was that it?
Sorry I poked my head in if it wasn't mine that you saw

You could always try it yourself.

When you get the cluster, there should citcuitries in the back. Just remove them and replace them on your original cluster and it should work again and you'll keep your original miles.

Re: (mikeycivic)
No no no that's not what I'm saying lol.
Here is my thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2047461
You take the circuit board out of the new cluster and put it on yours. It will allow you to keep your miles and have a working speedo.
That is unless you are throwing a CEL for a VSS, if that's the case, then replace that. I'm pretty sure it is your circuitry though

Re: (awdgsx96)
no cel but the reason my cluster is f'd is due to old school ricey white face guages, so the actual guage (housing) is f'ed up

Re: (mikeycivic)
You should def try what I did. Either way, you'll have a new cluster. If the new circuits don't allow your speedo to work, just put them back in the new cluster and put the entire new cluster in and pay Honda.
Trying the first thing though will def be the cheapest thing since your buying a new cluster anyway.

i would do a google search for changing odometer mileage. i know you need a certain plastic gear from like an RC car
DONT SWAP CIRCUITRY, that is clearly not the problem in your case
EDIT: CLICK ON THIS LINK, there are exact instructions
