the one reason i'd question the issue of a clear title is the fact that he didn't mention it. MANY EM1's have salvaged titles so if an owner has one with a clear title they'd make a point out of mentioning it.

also, the difference in mileage doesn't mean it's got a bad title. the title could say one thing, but he could have driven it after registration. that explains the higher mileage. the only reason why i would say he mentioned the mileage is to show he didn't roll it back.

could be rebuilt, you should check his vin and check carfax, but before ask him if the title's clean to see if everything is legit.

None of my titles say the mileage my cars currently have now. Titles don't have rolling odometers.

I don't really know why he'd tell you what mileage he got the title at anyway.

Also, it's "chassis". It only sounds like "chas-E".

my title has the mileage from when my car was first registered when purchased at the dealership by the previous owner. i've also seen examples like yours. i'm not sure what california law is.

just like rcantu said, it's a weird way to state things. like i mentioned before, the only reason i could think of was to show the mileage wasn't rolled back. although, he could have stilled rolled it back, but just not so much as to show less than the title.

get a carfax! make sure everything with the title is cool. make sure the body is clean and runs well. i'm iffy about the hood and rims, but it's up to you.

I just run carfax already and found that the mileage been tampered with. This suck. Oh well on to the next one.

there's the kicker... no worries dude. you can find another EM1 for 6K. just be patient and i can guarantee you that you'll find a much cleaner one with original rims, hood, and clean title. it's a honda. they come around if you're looking.

also, i don't know how everyone feels about this, but i'm post the info from carfax you found on his listing. this way nobody gets screwed because he neglected to mention something so critical to the car's value.
