Does Apexi make a 2.5" WS exhaust for an 00 hatch?
My b16b came with a 2.5" collector and I have an old 2.25" N1 rusted to **** and I want to buy a new, quieter world sport exhaust that matches the collector diameter.

That's why I asked, I couldn't find one anywhere online.. Know of any companies who do?

Plus, you probably won't find one with a 2.5" or even 60mm flange diameter either, since in order to be smog legal they have to be "direct replacement" for stock which means it has to bolt into stock downpipe or converter. Neither of which are 60mm or larger. You'd have to cut the flange off and weld on a larger one.

I can get a new flange welded on for nothing, my buddy works at a muffler shop. 60mm isn't big enough, that's like 2.36 inches. Man, I know somebody has to make a 2.5" exhaust for my car...

The only other option I know of is to build your own or use a kit. IMO, the kteller stuff is overpriced. SMSP claims to offer a "kit" for less money, but I haven't verified this.

Hmmm that is kinda pricey, $700 for a full cat back.. Glad something's out there though.

what is wrong with 60mm yeah its 2.36 but that little difference isn't going to make that much of a difference thats only .14 thats just over 1/8 of an inch, unless u are building on hell of an all-motor car......

No kidding, the 60mm piping is already close to double the size of the flow area over stock piping.

Yes, SMSP offers kits and allows you to choose the resonator and muffler combination you want depending on your budget and your sound/volume preferences. SMSP would be my suggestion for a true 2.5" system.

mot cat-backs flare out at the flange anyway so it should not matter much, they flare where the donut gasket seals again the exhaust pipe from the header flange, plus depending on what car u are putting it on the cat-back doesn't reach the header anyway so ur gonna have to get a test pipe made to make up the difference. so therefore it wouldn't really make a difference if the cat-back was 2.36 or 2.5 ........

I have a hatchback, there is no test pipe needed because the exhaust meets directly into the exhaust manifold. Bone stock DX hatchbacks have the cat integrated into the exhaust manifold, my B16B doesn't, so it just goes manifold to exhaust. Granted, I have a high-flow cat welded into my current N1 piping, but that's aftermarket. I don't understand why it's such a big deal to some of you that I want the same diameter piping as the collector, it makes perfect sense to me..

didnt feel like reading the whole post but there arent very many 2.5 piping exhausts out there, mostly 60mm.... the only companies that have 2.5 is type 1, some other one i cant think of or custom piping... if i were you, id go with the custom piping and get what ever muffler u want, even use ur N1
