Yes they have potential. As far as structure tho, you can get tie bars, subframe reinforcements, frame locks, to where it can be just as good as coupes and hatches, so with the work, it can be JUST as good. Hey, the STI is a 4dr, haha.
Plus its easier for the chicks to get in the back.

i honestly have nothing personal against 4 doors... but dude, wheel base is wheel base. and shorter wheel base means tighter, more responsive turning ability

I used to rock a 5th gen 4 door and it was excellent. With some suspension work you can make front/rear suspension bias really work for you with the 4 door setup. A buddy of mine rocks a B18C5 in his 4 door for autocrossing down in Miami and loves it.

Don't be afraid to push the double coupe work on the suspension also. No need to move your seat for an extra passenger or two everyone can have their own door

Re: Does a 4 dr have potential?
True about wheelbase, but with the 6th gen civic, the coupe, sedan, and hatch all have the same wheelbase. In terms of handling, you can get the Civic Type-R subframe and this will increase structural rigidity. Its all about what you want to do, and some things require more upgrading to get to the level you want. I have a LX and have to upgrade most parts to EX before going further to say type-R parts, JDM, aftermarket, high performance parts, etc. But if you get a good base, which a civic is, then with enough work.....i mean the sky's the limit.
I drive a four door LX, holla!

So you're the type who immediately thinks coupes are shorter than sedans, eh? Read the link in my sig to see why you're wrong.

A 4D definately has potential. Just upgrade the hell outta it and youre good to go. It all falls into one thing...youre own personal preference. I like the fact that you can create a sleeper with a 4D.

6th gens all share the same wheelbase.
