Do you need an EX ecu harness to install power windows/lock in a 1992 Si?
I'm trying to install power doors in my 92 si. I found the parts I need at a junkyard, but the junkyard is telling me that I need to buy the EX ecu harness to wire up the power windows and locks. I want to know if this is true because I've been reading about this install on some past HT postings and this harness was not mentioned in those postings. Can someone with experience install power windows/locks in a 92-95 civic shed some light on this topic. Thanks!

I HIGHLY doubt you'd need an EX harness.
I have an ex coupe and have power everything but the wiring harness wasn't for an ex.
I think the dude just wanted more cash out of you.

Nah you don't. I have a 92 si with power locks and windows. I did pay someone to do it because I did not want to deal with running all the wires. On my car I have the actual ex door on the passenger side and driver side he put all the power stuff in. At first I was gonna change the entire harness but It's WAY too much work. Gotta remove the entire dash and the harness even runs to the engine compartment.

yes, you have to take the whole freaking car a part; dash, carpet etc. i have a 94 dx that i wanted install power windows and mirrors in so i bought an ex harness and installed it, now the damn thing wont run. i was hoping someone could help me. anyone know of anyone that has actually performed this kind of swap successfully? i am willing to pay.... i am located in northern va.
p.s- no i dont think you need the ecu, but you will have to install some fuses in the main box.
