I am doing a front end conversion and the damn bumper wouldnt fit right so I cut the duct tape holding the piece of styrofoam and it came off and the bumper fits perfect now, but I was wondering do I need the piece of styrofoam? I mean whats the purpose of it? It's not like it's gonna save my life or anything.

to absorb impact when you hit something.... but your in honda so if you hit something in the front its gonna damage something no matter what lol haha... i took mine off to cuase i had bumper fittment issues to

Oh ok I see im not the only one then =P thats good to know, I just wanted to make sure I didnt NEED to, like my airbag would randomly go off if I didnt have it or something.

unless you live in a state where you need an inspection.

hahaha soo true. i went head up with a 2008 nissan titan and that little f'ing foam didnt absorb ****...

You don't need the Styrofoam bumper underpiece, no. In fact, most of the time a front end conversion is done or a body kit (gasp) is installed, they have to be removed as they don't fit right with anything other than the OEM bumper.

Nothing will happen if you don't have it, and it won't affect your airbag. As I said, most of the time ppl have to remove it when they do a front end conversion or put on a bodykit, etc.
