Do I need a cable tranny???
I recently got a b16a1 engine with no tranny. I know it suppose to have a cable clutch but I dont really want a cable clutch. What are my options??

the 4th gen civic needed a cable tranny, the 5th gen uses a hydraulic tranny, so if your car is a 92 or newer than u would need a hydro tranny

The car the engine is getting dropped in is a 98 civic dx. The engine is a firts gen sir1.

it's a pain in the ***... that swap.. .you need to get a hydro tranny or you can get a cable and spend 350 for the kit to make it into hydro, so basically you spend about 800 for hydro and 600 for cable+350 for the kit. Only plus is that the cable kit comes with an urathane mounts which I felt was worth the cash.

Yes, just get a GSR hydro, a B16 hydro, or a Type R hydro transmission. Any b series hydro tranny will work with your car fine. For a b16 though, I'd try and find a b16 or Type R tranny.
