do camber kits REALLY work?
hey guys, i was curious to know if camber kits work 100% on cars that are really low and have the typical negative camber? does it actually straighten out your tires completely?

Some kits are only good to a certain degree of lowering. As long as you dont try to tuck your wheel under the fender or some crap like that then most kits should take care of it. Keep it reasonable and you'll ne alright.
oh btw. I use the SPC kit front and rear with rear LCA's

camber kits work properly depending on how low your car is. if your car is super dumped, then camber kits are pointless IMO because the tires are "tucked" and if you try to straighten them out, they will hit the fenders.

thanx for the info. i never bothered to research on camber kits cuz i never needed them. But recently i dropped it quite a bit lower and noticed that theres a definite negative camber (worse on the back). The car is not dumped but its low enuff to the point u can't fit ur finger in the wheel well. I guess theres no point in getting a camber kit then .......
too bad cuz i personally LOVE the look.

Just like Cre18 had said, they only have adjustment for so much. I have Skunk2 arms and I love em. They work great.
However, you cannot FULLY adjust your camber back to 0.00 because the top of the tire would rub into the fender well, unless you have that modified.

Re: do camber kits REALLY work? (D16Y7man)
listen, there are countless post being made about camber kits. tonyxcom had very good replies and says basicallt the same thing i try to tell people. when you guys lower your cars, a little camber is not bad. if you wanna get a kit then fine. nothing wrong with adjustbility. but if you are soooo worried about tire wear, take the car to alignment shop and have the TOE set to ZERO all the around.
toe out = penguin feet
toe in - pidgeon feet
think of it like that. when your lower the car, yes it affects camber and it also throws off the toe setting. imagine your cars tires with toe in/out trying to drive straight. imagine the wear
a little bit of toe out up front is actually good in affecting turn in. (good for autox). some people add a little toe out back also to help the back come around.
i personally run a little toe out as of now, it does promote turn in. its a trade off of tire life and performance.
so before u spend money on the camber kit, see how long your tires last with toe at zero all the way around. mild camber is not bad.
remember, always set toe after you've set camber. when u change camber it changes toe. toe should be the last thing you adjust (considering your camber is where it needs to be/where you want it)
