Default DMV inspection

I bought my d15 civy hatch from a salvage yard and I haven't taken the car to DMV for final inspection to get my plates. I've already started to modify the interior and it occurred to me that DMV is usually pretty stingy on this crap. Anyone know exactly how stingy? I don't want to have to redo or rip anything out.

dmv couldnt care less what you do in the interior. as long as the airbag is fully intact and untampered with.

what you should have done is taken the car to the dmv before doing anything else.

It has to have one if the car came with one from the factory.

It has to be a non tampered unit, so you cannot just put in paper and seal it up they will know.

the air bags have to be 100% functional and also no srs light. all Vin # must be intacted include the dash, inner door vin # when u open up the driver door and they will pop your hood and check the vin also. and u must done the brake and light inspection b4 u bring the car to the dmv.

so far just paint and erm weight reduction but I already removed the srs and painted the goddam light over so you can't see it. did it when i removed the steering wheel to get the dash off; will try and throw down some pics. weight reduction wasn't for race just have big plans so lots had to come out. pretty much nothing left from the front seats back. Also my exterior paint has been...........modified. You think that will play into it?

god damn that civic is hideous, and also paint over the srs light will get you in more trouble becaue the dmv will turn on your key to see if the light come on first if not it's a automatic fail.

I truly do not mean to offend you but your car is an eyesore.
Don't you feel that it might bring some unwanted attention in the state it's in?
If I were you I would honsetly just spray the whole thing flat black or go to Maaco or something. Good luck.

no doubt. although I do and lose for now. Trust me its not pretty guys. I'll be going flat black within a few weeks. Me and Jack Daniel's get along a little to well sometimes and thats the result. Look at the bright side though. I painted it, but I didn't drive it

Wow, nice job painting the interior parts, not ricey or gay at all.

And gj ripping out all the SRS equipment and utterly destroying your interior before even getting it registered.

Kudos to you.

just go to a junk yard and ask teh workers where you can get an airbag that still works and put it on it but to tell you the truth dmv only checks the frnt and back lights to work oooh and also it is illegal to drive the car with that steering wheel not having the cover, just look for that bag at a junk yard
