DIY: Smoked amber on and EG
Step 1. buy some cheapo amber corners from http://www.tornactive.com should be like 33 bux
Step 2. go to a hobby shop (i go to Bill & Walts) and buy "Model Car Window Tint". should be in a little can and cost you somewhere in the area of 5 bux
Step 3. clean the corner lens thoroughly and make sure it's free of all debris...especially HAIR
Step 4. spray very thin coats on the outside of the lens, letting each coat dry before starting a new one. be careful, because the spray is enamel, so mistakes are permanent and probably visible. mine looked like this right after the last coat
here's what they look like on the car.
with the lights on. yes it still shines thru
easy...and they look like VIS corners for those of us who are broke a$$es

it's on the left in the second picture, although i think i peeled the label off. it should be ~3-5 bux for a can, and if you go a Bill and Walts, as for "model car window tint"

Re: DIY: Smoked amber on and EG (g4hatchie)
My only warning about painting the outsides of corners. (i did this to a set of clears for fake ambers after i broke my oem corners). The paint surface will get eaten up by road debris. Mine looked like the craters of the moon after a bit.

all you got to do if you want smoke is OPEN up the corner lamp and paint the inside BLACK that'll differently give you a smoke amber look.

screw opening up the lense...i'd rather not risk geting leaks/moisture in it afterwards....I sprayed a pair of clear lenses amber...and then went to pep boys and got a can of clear coat....sprayed the **** out of the corner lenses (after the amber paint dryed well, of course)...and its stayed in tact for about two years now....and i can still run my hand over it with a smooth feeling....trust me...clear coat will do wonders...

You want to spray paint $60 some odd dollar corner lenses?

5 or so with no clear coat. i actually went over it again a few weeks ago with another ~2 coats and it looks badASS. i think i might do another set and use clear coat this time...

Re: DIY: Smoked amber on and EG (Archidictus)
Pics are working for me. I am going to go to a local hobby shop and see if I can find that paint along with a good clear.
