Fabricated Hood Damper for EK
Hood damper made by my friend on his EK (w stock hood)
fabricated on some stainless steel brackets and stock EG hatch rear glass dampers:
here's the finish product:

hmm...hatchglass dampers from an EG
i was thinking those could work too
i am gonna try to use the dampers from the roofholder in the trunk of a DelSol.
i have a question though...i know the dampers are pretty strong...so does the hood shoot up quickly or does it come up slow and easy?

That depends on where you mount them to the fender/engine bay. The further back you mount them the higher it will open. You can mount them so it will open as high or as low as you want.

Wow, hugely interested here. I see where you mounted them to the hood itself but how did you mount the other end to the engine bay? I can't really make out much in the pics of that area.

If someone decided to do this just from seeing the finished product pictures, I bet that they could figure it out. Not to say that a step by step process wouldn't be a great DIY (You should have done that to begin with), but a little common sense could go a long way for anyone who just tried to do this.

Not neccessarily. A lot of places don't have anywhere near the high Honda theft rate that other places do.
