distributor question
does anybody know how to check the Ignitor Unit within the distributor on a '93 Si ?
My tach and cruise control both do not work and I've gone through the electrical diagrams and found that both of them share a blue wire which comes from the Ignitor Unit within the distributor.
If anybody has any reference on how to check it, and possibly what kind of voltages I should be looking for please help me. My tach has been out for the longest time and I'm getting tired of having to guess when my car is @ redline.
Help my engine communicate with me again...

Re: distributor question (franken-B)
There is no actual voltage out put that can be read by a typical Volt/Ohm meter.
YOu will need to do the testing on the ignitor inside the distributor
do this
Put the key on and check the voltage at the BLK/YELLOW wire if you get Battery Volts then it check the WHITE/BLUE wire for Battery Voltage
IF they both get it then turn it off and check for resistance between the blue wire on the ignitor and the blue wire by the driver side shock tower. If it has less than 2 OHM's then your good and your Ignitor is bad
