Dirty Head & Intake Manifold... Any recommendations?
I bought a z6 head awhile ago, haven't had the time to get the rest of the parts to complete my mini me but i inspected it the other day and its dirty as crap. Is there any way i can get the head completely clean or atleast semi clean? it has thick oil all of it and dog hair stuck on it and styrofoam in some places (from the packaging) its just a plain out mess. Also, the IM has dirt and oil and whatnot in it too. I was told to dump purple power all over and and pressure wash it but the guy that told me that is a douche bag and i dont want to take any advice from him. Any recommendations? I am going to get the head installed as soon as i get an oil pressure switch (soon)

you can use simple green remove the sensors mark them and such of course, and just use a tooth brush and what not and be smart where you get water and such.

Spray it down with brake cleaner. Make sure you get everything really clean, or as clean as you can get it.
When you are done, you'll want to give it a coat with some kind of lubricant, like WD40 or LPS, to make sure nothing will rust.

its not even recommended that u clean out your enginebay with a pressure cleaner, although many people do, those people can probably tell you everything is corroded, or even starting to rust under there...
you can't be serious about cleaning your intake mani, let alone your head with something crappy like a pressure washer...
you'll be better off cleaning it out with simple green, or use break cleaner,
this will really clean out most of the dirt, u might want to get some pressured air running through the parts u just cleaned, to make sure all cleaningproducts evapourize...afterwards you might wanna coat it, or just leave it as it is...
goodluck

No, brake cleaner will not. It will remove any oil left on the part, which is why you must apply some light oil to the parts after they are cleaned, so it wont corrode.
