Re: different between B Series and D Series (turbohenry)
Try checking out the very first two topics listed in this forum.
A short answer to your question:
B series engines are dual overhead cam and come standard with more horsepower than D series engines. B series engines ranged from 130hp (B18A1) up to 200hp (B18C5)
Most D series engines are single overhead cam - there are a few DOHC models, but they are not nearly as common as the SOHC models. D series ranged from 62hp (CRX HF - D15B can't remember suffix) up to 127hp (D16Y8 in 96-00 Civic EX)
For the most part D series engines came in lower level Civics, while the B series came in all Integras, CR-Vs, and some of the top of the line Civics/Del Sols.
GENERALLY speaking the B serie is the more desirable engine of choice amongst Honda enthisiasts because they start off with more power. The downside is B series engines cost more than D series engine.
Other than curiosity do you have a specific reason for asking this question?
