Difference between 92 and 93 Si HB?
My coworker wants to sell his '92 or '93 Si and doesn't know what year it is exactly. It was stamped 8/92 on VIN plate. He has power steering and A/C. Is it a '93?

I'll tell him. I think he's under the impression that it's a '92 but I thought '92 didn't have like AC and powersteering.

Re: Difference between 92 and 93 Si HB? (ScareyH22A)
far as i know there werent many changes between the 92-93 si's both had drivers side airbags both cam with a/c. the only thing i can think of is that the 93's had a passenger side airbag.
all 92 only have drivers side airbags. no passenger side. major differences came with the 94-95 with abs among other things
and all you have to do is get the vin# and cal the dealership up and they can tell you exactly what year....

Cool thanx. You're sure about the '92 not having passenger side air bag while the '93 had'em?

93 base models has passenger air bags like the cx, dx .some had them some didnt. so why wouldnt the si have them. but i know for sure all 92 si's never had a passenger side air bag. but like i said call your honda dealership and ask to speak with the one of the managers and they will run the vin# and tell you exactly what your friend has.
matter of fact you would have your answer already.. instead of making this post? haa haa j/k

just called honda... the passenger airbags for the 93 model si's were a factory option. but did not come with passenger side airbag from the factory... and it was standard on 94+ models.

Re: Difference between 92 and 93 Si HB? (ScareyH22A)
There are really no differences between 92 and 93's. All the factory options were the same. Neither one came with anything the other didn't have. 94 and 95's on the other hand came stock with @ least passenger side airbags if not some other things the 92 and 93's didn't have...

amazing how much misinformation there is. 92 & 93 are the same...'93 Si's did have an optional passenger side airbag.
94+ civics did have passenger airbags as standard equipment. 94 & 95 Si's had ABS brakes, unlike earlier models which didn't.
the surest way to determine is by looking at the vin# as stated above.

Not all '94s and '95s had ABS. My '94 doesn't have it. But yes, easiest solution would be to check the VIN or the title. Normally if the plate on the door jamb says "08/92," it's a '93 model year.
