Re: di5b (93CX)
well the red starts at 8000rpm and it limits at about 8300rpm. Also something that strikes me as odd as it does 0-60mph in about 7.5 secs. seems a little quick considering its supposed to be 130bhp!
its very confusing, hope somebody can help!

Well to find out exactly what engine you have you need to find the engine code. The engine code should be in the blue circled area. You may have to rub off some grease or dirt. Its not a flat surface its kind of a slant. Let us know what it says. Also what kind of car is it?

Re: di5b (turner7205)
It says d15b. Its a 16valve vtec but doesnt say vtec on the rocker cover, just 16v honda motor co. The rocker cover is black not red or anything like that. its a japanese import, fully loaded with aircon, colour coded wing mirrors, door handles etc. and its very fast (for a 1.5) , like i sed earlier it does 60 in 7.5 secs, which me and a friend filmed on my phone. lol

Get your 0-60 timed properly at a track and post a timeslip. Stop-watches and camera-phones and one-alligator, two-alligator methods are inaccurate.

Re: di5b (wills_)
Its not a VTEC its probably the same one I have in the pic above. That one is a 1.5liter D15B7 16valve NON VTEC. Again what kind of car is it? Year , Make , Model

I caught that too, but maybe he was logic was this: With shorter gearing he'd be shifting earlier during the 0-60ft. and maybe he takes a million years to shift. So having the longer gears allows him to just stay on the gas for a long time during the 0-60ft. and thus eliminating the million years it takes him to shift.
And people with D-series generally go for the EX or the 92-95 SI trannsmission. B-series guys, yeah, they like the 99+ SI trannsmission but not all of them go that route.

the D15b is a 130hp 108 lbs of torque i think it redlines at 7200 rpm. just cause your cluster say its higher it isnt. oh yea d15b were only avaiable in the JDM and EDM markets. Longer gearing is not a good thing it slows the car down. but as stated your block says D15B so we got that down now what kind of car do you have? since you say JDM that would mean you have a right hand drive car. last are your spark plugs on the front or back of the valve cover?
