detailed instructions on how to chip a p28 and p30?
does anybody have detailed instructions on how to chip a p28 and a p30? this is for two different cars, the p28 is a JUN spec chip, and the p30 is a mugen XHR chip, the JUN chip came with the two resistors and a smaller chip, and the mugen XH4 chip came with two resistors and that's it. am I missing the smaller chip that came with the JUN chip? or is that because it's a p28 and my chip is for a p30? any help would be appreciated...

Re: (B16EG)
most of us buy them off ebay that are already chipped. but my freind here in atlanta does chip p28, p72, p30, and p61 ecu's and what u have to do is solder on the board this little socket that accepts the chip after u solfer on the socket (very carefully cuz u can solder right throug the board) uhave to burn the chip ( he has all teh chips the burner and every progrma u can think of then u have to clip some jumpers on the board to make the ecu look for the new socket u have just soldered in. then your good to go. it is a very delicate procedure and all it takes is one nervous hand with a soldering iron and u F up your ecu. i suggest if u are a first timer just trying to do one ecu for your self to buy one off ebay. the only reason u shoudl try to learn for your self is if u are wanting to this for a business then you should leanr it takes patience and lots of ecus to practice on. good luck.

for USDM P28/P30 ECU.
just go over the pic: http://phluid.digitalrice.com/misc/p28ecu.html
JDM P30 will require same parts but in much smaller format (reffering to the 74hc373 chip)

i dunno how to chip ecu's and im not really that interested at this point. but like any trade, people who know how to do it, will be hesitant to share. just like how magicians dont reveal their tricks. esp. when money is involved
im sure you already thought about that tho!
but if u do learn post it here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and share!!!!!!
