deployed to iraq, need help helping shop finish k20 swap
i'm in the army and got deployed to iraq again on dec 5 so i apologize ahead of time for not doing a proper search but my internet time is limited.
before i left i got my motor pulled on my 98 civic ex and paid hybrid racing to send me thier motor mounts, axles, clutch line kit, and will from h-r is getting my immobilizer pulled from my ecu. i was wondering if any h-t'rs could get me the part numbers for the aem fuel rail required for this swap and what fuel pressure regulator i need. also can u run power steering with just cutting a section out of the support under the hood or do i have to buy an ep3 idler pulley. i'm tryin to get these parts ordered so the shop in north carolina can get my car outta thier way. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey buddy since I appreciate you guys being over there and all I'll be glad to help you out. But let's not get all the Hater-Tech people up in arms in regards to politics....okay
I'm doing this for a customer as we speak. I work at a shop called Auto Obsessions in Panama City FL and we're putting the RSX-S motor into a del sol.
As for the power steering, go with the EP3 Idler pulley because even with cutting the hood-frame/support the pump doesn't clear. It's not the pulley like everyone assumes it's part of the pump itself.
The dealers sometimes have trouble finding these parts because they are listed in the parts catalog under
System Name\Component : ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET
You'll need the EP3 parts as follows:
Illustration number: Part Discription:
003 BRACKET, IDLE PULLEY
005 COVER, BEARING
007 PULLEY, IDLE
012 BOLT, SPECIAL FLANGE (10X25)
018 BOLT, FLANGE (8X45) 2 of these
Our motor didn't come with an A/C compressor which most K-series don't so with the A/C removed and the EP3 Idler pulley installed the best belt we have found is the NAPA part# 25-060512.
We also used the stock fuel rail and fuel filter with an aeromotive fuel pressure regulator and stainless braided fuel lines with the age old B&M fuel pressure gauge installed on the fuel filter.
Like so:
Banjo fitting out to 6an - (In) Regulator (Out) - 6an to Stock fuel rail and the bottom outlet on the FPR goes 6an to the fuel-tank return line secured with a hose clamp
When they connect the fuel line to the stock fuel rail use an adjustable hose clamp and if you'd like they can purchase those anodized hose clamp hiders.
Thanks for insuring America's freedom
