Day 1 working on the Eg / GSR swap (8 pics)
After driving to Sears to get a 32mm socket for the hub nuts and a wasted trip to Harbor Freight shortly after for socket adapters that were the wrong ones, finally got started just after 1pm on the Cx. A few buddies were also over working on their cars.
Here's a pic using the ball joint remover to pop the lower ball joint out to get to the axle....
Here's a shot of the axles removed and the pan that caught the oil. All fluids are removed and both axles are out. I used a large chisel looking thing to pry the axle out of the tranny.
While at Sears my brother disconnected the wire harnesses and also the stock intake:
My buddy working on his rear camber kit. Already installed the front kit at this point:
Another shot of what's going on. Check out the cherry picker in the back of the truck. My ex-wife b/f let me borrow it
It was a mess out there:
My other 2 buddies cars (92 Cx / GSR motor & 98 DX with a 99-00 front conversion going on shortly):
The GSR hatch also got a rear camber kit installed today as well.
I've got to figure out what's next for the Cx removal.
Looks like it's time to:
13) Relieve fuel pressure
14) Take off fuel line
15) Remove coolant lines
16) Remove header bolts and b-pipe
17) Remove pin for shift linkage and bolt holding shift linkage in
18) Remove throttle cable
19) Take off slave cylinder
I posted this in the civic forum since I am working on the Cx motor and not the GSR at this time....

looking good so far. Any insight that you would like to share so far?
doing the swap yourself.
doing the swap yourself.
I had to trim the ball joint removal tool that is in the first pic to get it in position. It was not wide enough, but the sander took care of that

I did the same swap a few weeks ago to my CX and id like to say, label all your vacum hoses and connectors cuz once you pull out the wiering harness its kinda hard to find each plug.
