Damn i feel old.....
Just to introduce myself. I'm 32, married, w/kids, and just got my first Civic. It started 3 years ago a young friend of mine (skeeter) in colorado springs got me liking these little cars and i've wanted one since. I searched until i finally found what i wanted. The other day i picked up a 92 hatch in Tulsa Ok. It's got a D16y8 swap and some other nice little do dads in it. I feel like it's a good start for a little racer. I just have to say that Damn you kiddos make me feel older than dirt. I hate to bring up the old saying, but. When i was your age i didn't know **** about cars, much less all the **** that you kids know now a days. I just hope you guys will be patient with me when i ask very stupid questions. and hopefully i'll have a race worth civic sometime in the near future.
thanks
mike

Welcome! I'm almost 25 and I feel old on here sometimes. I know alot about Mustangs, but there sure is a bunch to learn about these Civics (I just picked up a 93 hatch not too long ago) and I enjoy learning all of it. As you and I have both learned, they are fun little cars.

Welcome Mike, I'm 35 but have no kids or wife..lol and I don't feel old. I've loved cars since I was old enough to walk and will love them till the day I die. You don't have to be young or old to enjoy cars, just enthusiastic and open minded. Enjoy your newfound hobby!

Wow, thanks for the welcome ! i knew i wouldn't make it out alive without recieving one "noob" from somebody LOL. It's all good tho. I'm not a total noob when it comes to motorsports, i build, chop, rebuild, and paint custom metric bikes. So riding a honda, or driving a honda i figure you can't go wrong. I spent a good deal of time in the Jeep rock crawling world also. But nothing has had my attention as much as this.
What is the one major mod that everyone could suggest for a hatch ? Just wondering....

Re: Damn i feel old..... (vsm98civic)
seriously. we all love hondas cause there easy to work on, fun to drive, they rev high, get good power, and still get great gas mileage. Like i have a 96 civic sedan. i dont like 4 doors, and i wanna sell it to get somethin else, but i cannot get myself to sell it. theres some kind of attachment that i know is gonna make me keep it till either someone crashes into me or i die of old age. i would say till it dies, but its a honda. engines dont die, they have problems, and we fix them. anything that wears on my car i upgrade with aftermarket parts.
welcome to the Honda owners club. We do it for ourselves.

The internet has these kids spoiled. Information is so readily available these days. I'm 33 & been doin' this for a looong time & saw the scene explode in direct proportion to the growth of the internet. [B]Welcome to HT & the world of the underdog...
