daily driver b18b turbo?
Hey I have a 2000 civic coupe with a 98 jdm b18b with I/H/E with a ACT heavy duty pressure plate and steet performance clucth =stage 1!!! ( not dyno tunned)
I put that engine cause I figured it was the best bang for my bcuk!!! Now I've learned that this engine respondes very well to boost so I'm thinking of Turbo!!! I want to save some money so go turbo but I need to know apporx. cost, parts and setup!!!
Thanks for the feeback I want to do it right!!! ( for daily drive with a couple of 1/4 mile runs once and awhile...So I want a safe setup for engine life)

you can piece together a turbo from anywhere inbetween 1000 and 100,000.
you'll probably end up in the 3-4k range though....
the key to long life, reliability, and daily-driver duties, are to get it tuned correctly by a pro with a real management system (no vafc hack or fmu).
200-225 whp is what i'd shoot for for a nice, pretty quick, daily driver on a stock ls.
sure, you can go more.... but you really don't need it, and it starts to eat at reliability the more you go.

you don't have to touch the motor for a 200-ish power range.
just get a nice small turbo (t3/t04b .57/.63 seems pretty good) and an efficient front mount, and get an EMS like hondata, or DIY w/ crome, etc and proper fuel, and you're good to go.
maybe look into the peakboost kit. lots of guys are running those and like them a lot.
