Re: d16zc engine
There is no such thing. There are many forms of the "ZC" engine, almost all of which will fit into any 88-00 Civic body. Given that every form of this engine was a production motor for a certain car throughout the years, there's no reason why it wouldn't be good for daily use. To answer your questions more thoroughly, you need to be very specific as to which ZC you are asking about first.

hello guys hope you're good...i'm just confused about what swap should i put in my civic 99..b16a with manual tranny is high performance engine but expensive and i'm little afraid of manual tranny because it has been a while since i drive one...on the other hand the d16 maybe y8 or zc has less power but inexpensive so i can do another things to the car and with auto tranny maybe it will be better for daily use...i hope u help me to chosse cuz it's a life time swap ??

A D series Automatic Transmission will die if you add any power. A B series is the way to go or a turbo 5 speed D series. I would suggest a B18C1(GSR)

Assuming you're correct then your particular ZC is equivalent to a D16Z6. It will swap just fine into your car.
Saying an anything is the best is subjective so rather than say it is I will say that the D16Y8 was offered in the top of the line d series powered civics (EX) in the US.

D16Z6/D16A6 are arguably the "best" D series motors. This is because they have dual oil channels, compared to the single oil channels that every other D series has. This means they're less likely to spin bearings, and more capable of handling abuse.

A good solution in price and bump your hp and Tq it's a b18b or b20z swap.
And if you in the future want more power take the advice from B_swapped93 or turbo it.

manual tranny with daily driving:
-cost less gaz when your not a racer (lol)
-you actually have more control of the car not the car tranny controlling you
-car weight less (+performance and less gaz cost)
-A LOTS LESS OF STUPID WIRING
-If your brakes die of a sudden in a hill you may have much chance to survive with compression XD
-Honda make his Fame with cheap quality Engine WHO CAN TAKE HIGH REV! so why putting a tranny wich force your car to shift a 3000rpm when you can ******* take the same engine to redline without blowing him up with manual
and im still skipping facts
manuals without any doubts dude, just get confident about it and wait for the driving experience I just teach my gf to drive manuals without her license with a db1 integra, now my entire fronts shocks are dead and my tranny sound like: killllllll mee but hey what a satisfaction seeing your girl driving a teg to 6200rpm better than your males friend having trouble shifting their 2001 echo? XD

what you talked about is 100% true but i mean that maybe the auto tranny will be more comfortable for use especially in traffic and the diffrence in mpg between manual and auto is not that much that what i meant
don't get me wrong i really want to have a stick but my car is allready auto and i'm little afraid of turning it into manual that what i come up to after alot of thinking...please for give for any disturbance
