Bom dia!
ANYWAYS, D16Z6 to same level as B16?... without turbo or NOS... wow.
Well, from what I understand, B16 has more horsepower, BUT D16 and B16 have almost same torque. To make your D16 faster, like in a drag race, I would suggest a Intake (HKS, GReddy, or K&N). After this, try to get a good "sport" clutch (EXEDY, ACT) with a lightweight flywheel (EXEDY, ACT). Your D16 should beat B16 with just those 3 parts. Oh, and get some sport type TIREs. Doesn't have to be ADVAN or expensive type, just try to get some summer sport tires if they are OK to use in your area (no snow).
Both engine has VTEC. Should be fun! Good luck!

i used to have an all motor d16z6 powered civic that i installed a camshaft and adjustable cam gear. i dont think it was as fast as a DOHC b-series but it definitely was quicker than stock.

thanks for the reply.
And talking about top speed is possible to obtain the same top speed that a b16?
for example my car is making 140m/h, i think that de delsol b16 is making 170m/h stock?
What are the best mods to gain power in the 5 gear?

I dont know what your trying to say, but the b16 in an eg tops out around 130-135(never kept on it like I did my z6). a d16z6 tops out at 130 (I do know this). theoretically a z6 COULD top out at 170 ish but it needs more power (ALOT more) while a b16 tranny tops out around 145.

You would need to open your tranny and install a new final drive. If you want to do this your RPMS will go up in every gear keeping you in your power band longer, but will suck for highway driving and stuff. My b16 in 5th gear at 3000 rpms is going 55 mph. My z6 tranny would do 70 mph at 3000 in 5th.
EDIT: You would probably need someone else to install the final drive since you are a newb. I know a bit about cars and I have never opened mine.

check this out man i have a 94 ex coupe with stock z6 with just a filter and 4-1 headers and smoked a 98 ex coupe with b16a2 swap with intake and exhaust. It only cost me 150 for headers and filter and cost the other guy around 3'gs. Look whos the winner.
btw for ur last question, i would suggest an AEM CAI, DC 4-1 header, and 2.25" catback exhaust and hi flow cat...after that work on internals get cams and camgears, add a fuel pressure regulator and get it TUNED

Re: (vg7z)
man, seems like im reading a 2004 members only kinda thread. intakes, headers, and exhaust will not give you insane amounts of HP. maybe 10 at most. single cams do not respond well to bolt ons as well as dual cams. the best way is to do i/h/e as well as upgrading internals valve springs, retainers, pistons rods blah blah blah. without turbo you're gonna need some high compression parts.

i/h/e stands for intake/header/exhaust, i reccomend a stage 2 cam from crower or zex/comp, when ever i beat up on B swaped car they always whine that my cars a hf and its so light, tough luck.

Re: (Laosfu)
But you are talking of a race with distance? 1/4mile?
what about longe distance, when you can go to the end of the redline of the 5 gear.
it´s that possible to win over a b16?

SRR makes a 4.7 and 4.9 final drive for the d series. You can pick these up from Special Project Motorsports. They are about $475.

The gearing for top speed is going to be the least of your worries right now. Even with i/h/e on any of the D16 you are not going ot have enough power or aerodynamic capabilities to go as fast as the stock gearing will allow.
Also, why would you want to go this fast. There is no where you can possibly do this legally or safely in this car.
Either engine can be built to be quick. My D16 puts out 124 whp with i/h/e, flywheel, hon data intake manifold gasket, no ac, and no ps. I am hoping to see 140 whp when I finish my mildly built bottom end. You can see maybe 160-170 with a n/a d series completely built. Keep in mind that is not going to be cheap. These can be quick with the right gearing and right build.
To sum it up why don't you spend your money on learning how to drive. Go do some auto crosses or hpde events. You will soon learn that it isn't power that is your problem, but your driving.

Re: (DMF)
thanks, just a question, what´s the difference in performance between the ceramic and the strainless header? And what do you recommend a 4-1 or a 4-2-1
i´m thinking on put a dc sports header, is this a good header?
Thanks
