D16Z6 swap in EK .. CEL code 9 (CYP sensor) help ?
Hey what's up guys so I swapped in an OBD1 D16Z6 in my EK. I did all the proper modifications to properly run the motor(IACV wire fix, vtec wires, etc). I also used the original D16Z6 dizzy and de-pinned the plugs to use the OBD2 dizzy plug(one plug).
I started the car and it idles fine, but I am throwing CEL code 9 which is cylinder #1 position sensor / CYP sensor. Any idea on what to double check, look over, or modify ?
Thanks guys
Oh and btw the motor is a D16Z6 from an auto 93 delsol (converted the auto p28 to manual) and I am using an OBD2A-OBD1 jumper harness.

Measure the resistance of the CYP sensor. Should be 350-700 Ohms.
I don't think an EK with an OBDI engine swap can pass a legal smog test in California.

Re: D16Z6 swap in EK .. CEL code 9 (CYP sensor) help ?
thanks a lot for the info
i dont have a multimeter so what i did today was check the timing and the cam gear was indeed off when i set the crank pulley to TDC and the rotor on the dizzy was not facing cylinder 1. i adjusted the belt and cam gear and set everything correctly and made sure the rotor on the dizzy was facing cylinder 1 now.
now i am still getting the same code. bad dizzy maybe ? i will double check the wires on the dizzy right now.
thanks again
