D16z6 Q's
Hey guys a got an eg I'm lookin at with a rebuilt z6, p29 12:1 pistons, stock head and a few other mods not to mention a hondata s200, I was wondering if the motor was ok on 93 pump and didn't need anything more volitale?

Re: D16z6 Q's
I had a z6 awhile back with p29's and ran it on 91 pump. There was detonation and once it got tuned it disappeared. I personally would do a comp test on it.

all motor d-series is a major waste a stock b20 will put it in the ground and be cheaper, just pass on it. I've got a b20v with 12:5:1 on 91 pump tuned on Hondata no knock you'd be fine with 91.

Instead of trying to find little things to self tune the motor yourself, it would be in your best interest to just pay to get it tuned.

251@8850 there's room for me to go over but I'm loosing power after that, mind you mine is a different engine/set up then what we're talking about here. Yes in theory that will work however I'd suggest paying someone to tune it, while "DIY" is fun tuning is not one of them in my experience.
8.2K on a d ? hope that's with forged rods, balanced rotating assembly, arp main/rod bolts and ACL race bearings.

Going around the ?'s at hand. I would personally buy the biggest engine I could afford and work from there.

Re: D16z6 Q's
as for N/A building a D series is a waste u might see 160hp to the wheels .. when going N/A u want the most displacement u can get to make the most power. its all in the tune Honda recommends premium for anything over a 10:1 ratio ...
