D16z6 did i put my dowel pins in wrong place????
i got a d16z6 installed the dowel pins. headgasket arp studs. and head gasket. all already installed like a day ago.
okay i think i put the dowel pins in the rear of the engine block/intake manifold side. did i put it in the correct place??
im not sure if i put it in the exhaust side or the intake manifold side. its already on.
i forgot
im wondering is it possible that i put it in the wrong place.
the dowel pins i looked at a picture online looks like it could be placed either way on the block intake side or exhaust side. with a bigger hole for the dowel pin grooves in the middle area for dowels.
but i looked under the cylinder head d16z6 it looked like the dowel pins have a groove for the dowel pins in the exhaust manifold side only??? not the intake side?? rear motor.
fml im now really worried if i put the dowel pins in the wrong place. f**K why did i forgot if where i put the dowel pins.. don't want to remove the gasket head.
i dont have any spare motor to test if i put it in the wrong place.
is it possible for it to be forced or a way to get it in the wrong place???
pls let me know?????
thanks....

Re: D16z6 did i put my dowel pins in wrong place????
i don't think there is a wrong place to put them in as long as they fit. They are there to hold the head in place on the block to restrict it from shifting. That's all. You should be good. I thought they were on the exhaust side but I really can't remember at all

yes i am using a FSM i got a downloaded one for my laptop PDF i think file.
but it don't tell anything about the dowel i cant find it in the manual and its the oem manual i believe.
should i be okay?
im just want to make sure i didn't put it wrong way. i think i put it in the back but i forgot.
but what i know is that the head went on and is already torqued and in.
i don't want to remove again. just want to know if is there a wrong or right way when installing the dowel. and is it possible to go only one way ... thanks..
