Default D16z6 with a d16y8 distributor will it work?

Alright I just got my built/boosted d16z6 in my 97 civic. I have aem ems for tuning (1020 box) and I am not recieving any fuel or spark. I believe this is due to my distributor. Will I run into any problems if I try to run a d16y8 distributor? I have read different information and looking for someone that has tried this or has some type of direct experience.

Thanks in advance,
Ben

I would just pick up a z6 dizzy and be done with it, dont even bother messing w/ the y8.

Are you running a Z6 basemap?

If you put the stock ECU back in, will the car start?

The only distributer that will work correctly with a Z6 is a Z6/Z1 distributer.

If you need a stock P28 manual ecu, I have one.

a y8 dizzy will not fit in a z6 motor. my buddy tried this when he put a z6 head on his y7 block, he tried using a y8 dizzy because he had one on hand, but it didnt work.
