Re: d16z6 and d15b issue
i wanna say theres suposed to be a hose barb on the manifold that goes there and a hose that goes from there to the thermostat housing or the water tube. but if its blocked on the z6 its prolly not needed. but just in case i would look at other d-series manifolds and try and find one with a hose barb there. honestly i dont think ive ever seen one without it. what manifold are you using?

my bad thats not the hose barb im thinking of...that one goes up tward the throttle body. and its there on your. so i dont know why it would be leaking. DID you change the i/m gasket? and did you scrape all the old gasket material off?

Re: d16z6 and d15b issue
I blocked the hole with some rubber and so far is holding up... and yes I changed the gasket.....
do you put silicone on the gaskets??? because the guy in autozone told me not to do it cuz it wasnt necessary as long as you scrape the old gasket material

I'm guessing you put a D16Z6 head on a D15b? If so What head gasket did you use becuase I'm getting ready to do this as well and I couldn't find anywhere on all mini me write ups which gasket to use the d15b or d16z6. Every write up I find say's use new headgasket, like duh!

Well I noticed on ebay the gasket kit for the d15b is like 40 ish and the d16z6 was like 30ish not that 10 dollars makes a difference to me but I just want to make sure I use the right one as well.

Re: d16z6 and d15b issue
think of it this way. if you had the d15 manifold on there and it had an extra barb for an extra hose, what would you do with it? cap it off, right? because you couldnt do anything else with it. so thats all you need to do, just blcok it off before the manifold.
