d16y8 t-stat housing...
Alright, initial problem: radiator fan doesn't turn on and I tested the relays and those were good. I then jumped the harness and found that the fan turned on so it lead me to believe the fan switch (whatever its called ) is bad.
Now here is the problem: I removed the air intake and some of the radiator tubing and go to the sensor...now its at a weird angle and I couldn't get the sensor off with a cresent wrench so I went and bought a wrench and socket and those didn't fit due to the lip on the sensor. So I had the bright idea of taking the t-stat housing off the engine and that I might be able to get a better angle on the sensor....yea right.
Now I tried and tried but this damn thing will not budge so I looked on http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and saw the price of a new t-stat housing (10 bucks) so I ordered one and they are out of stock, then I tried autozone, napa, kragen etc and they are not able to order them either. Any suggestions guys...I have everything patched back up but I need to fix this sensor (which is already bought) and so my car doesn't overheat .
Also will any other d-series t-stat housing fit with the fan switch? Also anyone willing to sell one to me or offer any suggestions on how to remove this damn sensor?

I had the same problem, bought a new one and went to match it up at kragen, the socket size that worked for me is 15/16, cost me 6 bucks just to get that sensor out. i also have a y8 motor, so that socket should work...(deep socket)..
