Default d16y8 into 93 civic ex?

Q-
i have a turbo d16y8 swap which i want to put into a 93 civic ex? i have a step down harness into a tuned obd1 ecu that i got for basically nothing? if everything worked in my 97 shouldn't it work in my 93? or will the wiring be jacked up? i'm confused on switching the distributor and such when i have an obd1 ecu ? any help will be appreciated

you need to do wiring because the harnesses are different between the two cars. you have two options- cut, solder, and shrink obd-1 plugs on your accessories/sensors, or use a b7 distributor, obd-1 alternator, etc

Reuse the original P28 ECU, fuel rail, injectors, alternator, driver's side motor mount, and wiring harness from the 93.

Find an OBDI distributor and take the plugs off of it.
De-Pin the Y8 distributor and put pins into the OBDI plugs, the wire colors are the same, so swap one by one.

Leave the crank sensor unplugged, you don't need it. While the engine is out, I would suggest swapping the timing belt/waterpump and removing the crank sensor completely.

Leave the knock sensor unplugged, you don't need it.

Everything else is direct swap over.

You'll also have to place the intake air temp sensor somewhere in your intake arm from the Z6 engine as the Y8 doesn't have a place for it.
