Default d16y8 into 00si wire help

I got a 00civic si shell for cheap. I have a b18c1 that is in progress of being built. But for now I have a d16y8 I want to throw in it. I drive a f250v10 so would be nice to save gas. So wondering if the d16y8 will drop in and plug into the factory 00civic si harness? Or if. Will need the harness from the d16? It is out of a 96 97 not sure. Thanks if need rewire can I get a diagram and where to disconect wires? I have the ecu from the d16

Not 100% sure about the harness, although I'm pretty sure it will work, other then a few extra plugs that might have to be extended, and some extra plugs that wont be used for your single cam application.

Now the ecu you have explained for the D16 will not work unless you obtain a OBD2B-OBD2A jumper harness, unless someone else has hard evidence the twin-cam ecu you have is sufficient to operate the single cam application, although I personally wouldnt try that.

Im in the same boat as you with the gas-hog F250, and an EM1 that I am trying to get running to avoid killer gas prices, although I need this fukin truck to do work and its killing me with the commute.

Depends on what year your motor is, if its from a 99-00(OBD2b) civic ex then it should be direct plug n play. but if its from a 96-98(OBD2a) ex then you would need to swap the harness unless you like to chop up a perfectly good harness and swap the plugs. Or you can go out and find a OBD2b distributor and alternator which would probably be the best route.

beecee18 already explained the ecu .

hope this helps out .

Plug your harness up to that motor and see if you can get a sohc ecu ( p2t p2p) to properly run motor.

you will have to use a 99-00 harness. i believe that should be plug and play with a 96-98 distributor. (99-00 sohc have a different plug than the si). you might have to extend some wires though.
