d16y8 to d16z6
okay heres my problem. ive got a 2000 civic ex with a d16y8 long story short that motor blew. where im from its hard to come buy D series motors that still run or any civic motor at that. so i found a D16z6 and currently in the process of a basic rebuid. The only diffrence i can find is the intake manifold is smaller than that of the y8. so with that said will my y8 manifold work on the z6 and is there any other diffrences that i have to pay attention to to make the swap run properly? (for all you flamers keep in mind this is my first swap and or engine work ive ever done other than that of smaller engines)
P.S. i did search and found some information just not what i was looking for
TIA

convert the dizzy with the y8 dizzy internals, swap the y8 intake mani(adds hp too) get a obd2 to obd1 conversion harness and a p28 ecu. no problems with my z6 in my 2000ex

Re: d16y8 to d16z6 (koa)
well what i was hoping i could do was unblolt everything from the y8 and just throw the z6 in with out having to rewire anything if thats the case ill just swap out the blocks beacuse all thats wrong with my y8 is a spun rodbearing that i tryed to ride home on and the damn thing locked up

Re: (97elitehonda)
I'm gonna do the same swap and I wanna use the y8 manifold instead of the z6...the only things I know what to do is change the dizzy and use a conversion harness with a p28
