D16Y8 with D15 block??
Greetings!
I have a 00 civic ex completely stock with a D16Y8 that spun a rod bearing recently. My plan is to pick up a D15 longblock and swap it in to make a mini me of sorts seeing as how i can get it for $100. However I can't find any info on just switching the block. I already have the Y8 ecu and wiring is there any additional changes that need to be made?
I know ill need a few of the headstuds from the d15.
What about the timing belt/camgear/headgasket?
Has anyone ever just swapped a d15 longblock under a factory Y8 head manifold ect.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: D16Y8 with D15 block??
Bump Ive checked the faq and still cant come up with a solid answer it seems most people are swapping from a D15 block over to a Y8 head.
My question is will a car with all stock Y8 ecu trans ect run a d15 block without any problems?
I plan on beginning teardown tonight.
