I know the basics of the mini me swap.

Yes I have done many searches, but i hear something about an oil control valve. What is an oil control valve, and what needs to be done to it in order for the mini-me swap so work.

I am new to the d-series performance world, but now that I have one, and I have little to no money, I need to try everything I can.

BTW: 2000 y8 head and intake manifold, going on a 98 dx. The head doner was an automatic, therefore I do not worry about the IAC valve, I will just use my old TB with the IAC built into it, right? Everything else should work, correct?

yep...you will need the P2P ecu tho...and you'll need a Y8 head gasket, and if u use ur old IM you'll need a y7 intake manifold gasket...

I honestly dont know about an oil control valve...i'm doing my z6 head swap onto my b7 in a month, and I havent heard of it...try searching or going to http://www.dseries.org

thanks for the furthur info, I plan on useing a 98 ex ECU, and the y8 gasket, BUT the oil control valve is making me nervous.

i heard on the y7 there is not oil control valve in the block so you should be fine
