Icon2 D16Y7 IAT sensor question

I have replaced my IAT sensor four times now in less than three months, and nobody can seem to figure out WHY - This all started about a week after I installed an SRI - I was studying the stock box, and noticed that the IAT sensor is never in the actual 'flow' of air (It is off to the side, away from the throttle body opening), and with the SRI the sensor is directly in the air stream coming in - Would the fact that it is being bombarded by air constantly cause it to fail/read as 'failed', and if so, if I either move the IAT out of the direct flow, or use a plug de-fouler to block the force of air going past it, would that remedy the issue? This is the only issue that would keep me from getting inspected at the end of the month!

I have another issue I just remembered, as well, and don't want to clog the forum with a bunch of posts - I just did my ebrake cables, and everything works great, but where the cables connect to the handle (on the rocker arm?), is it supposed to be straight? Mine tends to be tilted to the left when I pull the handle, but once retracted the shackle straightens out again - Just trying to make sure I didn't screw anything up! LOL

Are you using a K&N or Spectre filter?

I've heard if they are over oiled it can cause problems with the air sensor.

Don't worry about the parking brake, that's how they work. Could be several reasons none that are critical.

Ignoring the fact that I'm going to get my ***** busted to no end for this, I admit I am using an eBay SRI 'kit' that I had to SERIOUSLY modify to get to work with my Y7 (The one they send was for a Y8) - I'm not even sure if it's a wet/dry filter, or anything - There were no specifics at all, nor documentation, when the thing arrived on my door :-/

If you aren't using an oil type filter, you'd notice a film on the sensor anyway. The only other thing would be actual damage either from being held too tight or from vibration. How stable is tour tube?

A short in the sensor wire maybe?

All tubes are extremely stable - There is barely 1mm of play in any direction under 'moderate' hand force - I have a multimeter, but no idea how to USE it LOL - I'm just sick of spending $20 every week to get my CEL to go off for a few hours ...
