Default Is the D16y7, buildable? Use D16z6 head?

I have a friend who wants to build his D16z6, but he doesn't want any downtime, so can we build his spare D16y7 block,... are the crank journals as large as the D16z6 crank journals, are the internal specs the same or comparable? Also can I bolt on the D16z6 head to the y7 block?

Yup
Use the Y7 block and pop the Z6 head on there.

99% of all D series parts are interchangable.
